McLaren…You’ve Got Some Good Things To Say….ish.

Let me start off by saying that in general I agreed with everything McLaren said. The only thing that kind of turned me off from the start was that his language was gripy (as in , in a griping and complaining tone). It seemed like just another article on what the church needs to fix, which isn’t bad in and of itself but I feel like we get this the-church-needs-to-change talk so much these days that people are automatically inclined to skim over it and feel like it is just another cook venting off about how far gone the church is. Mind you, I’m not saying his words and ideas don’t have any merit. Like I said at the beginning, I generally agreed with everything he said (especially the part about having more Laments in church….we don’t get enough of those). The only thing is that I just wish there was another way to address issues about church-change without griping about how stupid humans are and how terrible a job we do at church stuff. I don’t know, maybe I’m griping right now and I have no clue. But, yeah, those are my thoughts. Does anyone think I’m being a Job’s wife….as in, a fool?
